Mix and match

14Nov08

There’s two good things about creating outfits from single components. One of them is that you can get old things or stuff you never wore for once out of your inventory and match them to perfection. Of course, this can have negative side effects too! In search of an accessory or just one last missing part of the clothes you can spend hours and hours of searching and wasting money! But lets not talk about the negative parts. The second posititive thing about mixing your own creations is that you can actually look individual!

In a world where everyone looks almost perfect and where everyone runs for all the fancy clothes that was just released by well known designers it is hard not to look like everyone else! Buying complete outfits will always mean that you share the exact same look of clothes with a lot of other people.

Creating your own outfits even allows you to wear something that a lot of people wear and you will still look different.

So what am I wearing today?

1

Here we’ve got the Cambridge Cuffed shirt by Gisaci (Armidi) together with the lovely Knit Tank by Ibizzare. I added the Kitschy Neck Tie in grey from Kyoot to it.

2

As the upper parts of the clothes is rather “old-fashioned” and well-behaved, I went for something more fancy, the Denim Quarry jeans by Emery. Its pattern evens the good girl look and its colour matches the tie. Both, the 2way short boots and the Song Bird belt are posh accessories. I love the options of the boots, you can either show your toes or not, colour your toe nails or put rings on them. In addition, the quality of the textures is so amazing – I could stare at them all the time!

The hair is quite a well known style from MMS Hair, I’m sure a wild hair cut would fit with this outfit too but this style is just predestined for combining with different clothes as you can fit the hair-band to the colours of your clothes. The skin I am wearing is a skin from the Obscene.

  3. That’s why I love mix-and-matching, you can get a more unique look than when buying complete outfits, as you said – but also take the self-expressive aspect of fashion a few steps further. Looking good!
